Our geophysical services are best described as the non-invasive investigation of sub-surface conditions. The goal is to characterize near- surface features such as contaminant zones related to industrial activities, buried metals, archaeological artifacts, and shallow geology. We have employed surface geophysical methods for a large variety of applications across many industrial sectors. Methods include Electromagnetics (EM), Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT), Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Magnetics, Seismic Refraction and Downhole Logging. At AKS, we strive to get the best possible picture of the shallow subsurface by using the most appropriate tools and methods.
Geophysical methods and tools map subsurface features both laterally and vertically. A 3-D interactive image of the features, which provides a powerful visual , is then provided to the client. The 3-D characterization significantly helps to better understand the features of interest.
Looking into the Earth
Much like medical imaging, our tools allow us to acquire information about the earth without actually disturbing it. The basic idea is to put together a picture by introducing an energy source into an area of interest and then sensing, analyzing and interpreting the response.
